So glad that my husband knows how to cook!

Everything my husband does is way better than what I could do...

For instance, it will take me 4 hours to clean the house yet my husband will take maybe an hour and I will come home and the whole entire house will be shining and glowing. Who knew the house could shine and glow.

Tonight Anthony made chai (better than I've ever made) and he made dinner tonight. Absolutely delicious! Indian food I can cook however, everything else, not so much. He taught me how to cook noodles because I had no idea. How sad huh? At least he can master everything American and I got the Indian down :)

Thank you Jesus for a man who knows how to cook and clean! Team work is the best! I would be a starving woman if he didn't teach me how to do everything! Loving my life with my amazing husband!

What Matters in Life

Today I have been married 11 months to the most amazing man I have ever met. Time has gone by so fast, it feels like yesterday I was getting my hair done and stepping into my wedding dress. When I think of how everything has turned out to be in my life, my favorite verse from the Bible comes to mind.

Psalms 37:4
Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you your heart desires.

Every little thing that my heart desired  Jesus has blessed me with. There were moments throughout my life where I would say silent prayer in my heart. For example, I wanted little love notes once in a while, here and there and when Anthony and I started dating, I would find these notes everywhere! Jesus knew every little thing that I needed in a man and completely knew his path for me. Once I said that I wanted to love and put Jesus first, and I truly meant it, Anthony came into my life. The love that I felt with him immediately is unexplainable.

Keeping Jesus first in our relationship is key to our marriage. We read the Bible and pray every single day. We compliment each other daily, we tell each other our likes and dislikes, we talk. Communication is key to a successful marriage, not only with your spouse but also to God. Once the number one relationship is good, all other relationships will be better.

Welcome to the Memorial Service of Sister Pamela Kern

Today was the memorial service for my pastor's wife. It was so beautiful and amazing. There were over 600 hundred people there. The building could seat 600 and there were also people standing up honoring our Pastor's wife. Anthony and I were honored to greet and it was amazing to see how many different people came together to give honor to such a wonderful woman of God.

One person brought together over 600 people. One person has touched so many lives. One person has made everyone of those people feel like they were they only ones she truly loved and believed in. One person showed God's love to over 600 people. One person loved God. One person impacted the world around her. One person.

The stories that were shared today were wonderful! Some were funny, some made us cry and others made us smile. We all laughed and cried. The songs that were sung were Sister Kern's favorites. All of the old time gospel songs.

The closing message was amazing as well. Pastor Kenneth Hainey talked about how prayers still live on. This is so true! Prayers are still being answered and will continue to be.

The song I have been singing since the service...

What A Day That Will Be

There is coming a day,
When no heart aches shall come,
No more clouds in the sky,
No more tears to dim the eye,
All is peace forever more,
On that happy golden shore,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

What a day that will be,

When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

There'll be no sorrow there,

No more burdens to bear,
No more sickness, no pain,
No more parting over there;
And forever I will be,
With the One who died for me,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

What a day that will be,

When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be

The Indian Dad and Mom

TAKE YOUR VITAMINS! EAT EAT EAT!

Being an Indian daughter is so much fun! Everyday there is something new with my parents. You would think becoming a wife would change things with my parents but it hasn't at all. In some ways of course they treat me different, I am of course a "woman now" and I have matured in some of my ways of thinking and I officially know how to cook. However, when my husband and I come home, we've come home. Mom and Dad still need us for the little things. I often wonder what they do when we are in Spokane, WA.

For instance, my mother was trying to schedule a doctor's appointment today, instead of pressing one to make the appointment, she pressed the number three on her cellphone. She had been doing this all morning long and went on to tell me that the doctor's office was closed. I told her to let me try, of course I did and I pressed the right number and someone actually answered the phone.

Little things like this make me wonder about them. I wonder how my mother made it across the WHOLE WORLD from INDIA to the United States. How did she not get lost? My father however, is still sharp and smart. As he ages, he is getting funnier and extremely talkative. He comes home and while we eat dinner, he tells us stories about how the cook at his work made spaghetti and how that is the NUMBER ONE thing he hates. Whenever he uses "number one" you know he is serious.

Watching my parents get older and older, it makes me smile. They are by far the cutest couple. Today we went on Skype and spoke with our family friend D. Joseph, my parents afterward told me that was the coolest invention they have ever seen. Even though they are not perfect and they've had their ups and downs. Somehow in the end, Jesus knew they were perfect for each other.

Showing God's Love

Every liittle thing is reminding me of my Pastor's wife, I know that she is in heaven and is in a better place, still, everything surrounding me has to do with her. During my economics course today, OLS analysis even reminded me of her...

I have been listening to worship music, she loved praising Jesus and simply loving him and showing his love. I have been trying to do this today... I have been really trying to smile and show God's love to everyone.

This is an important part of a Christian walk, showing his love is influencing others with Jesus inside of you. When people ask me why I am always happy or why I am always joyful, positive and nice, I tell them Jesus made me this way. I think of HIS goodness, HIS love, HIS mercy and life makes sense. The little things in life that are troublesome shape who you are, once the lesson has been learned, move on and let God use you for HIS kingdom. After all, this is why we are here...
