Two weeks ago I presented on education attainment for the Women in India and what it mean to participate in the labor force. It was amazing! There were 91 people in the Women and Genders Studies Center, it had never been that packed before! My family and friends were there and it meant so much to me that they were a part of my presentation.I spoke for about 35 minutes and then there were about 20 minutes of questions. A lot of people were surprisingly interested in arrange marriages. Some wanted to know about how my traditional Indian parents reacted to my Husband and then asked about my sister's experience as well. It was nice because not only did I get to answer but so did my sister and father.
I love that I could see how happy my parents were as I was presenting. It was as though they really were proud and happy that the path that God had chosen and HIS will was occurring. I always pray before I have to speak anywhere so It was really nice to see how God works everything out!
Below is a picture that was ALL over campus, the dorms and anywhere you could possibly think of at EWU...
I Love how my passion in research is all about India! I am looking forward to what the future holds! It is also hilarious that the Women and Gender Studies center printed off flyers that labeled me as a PhD... it was quite amusing... I didn't know that I had a PhD haha...
