My bible is smaller than my hand, Anthony's bible doesn't even fit on the table, and that's a washcloth folded in two halves... the tables are SO small!!! Imagine a laptop on that thing!

The Streets of India

I am always amazed at how people live in India. From the immaculate houses to the tarp covered houses.

Arriving in Mumbai, was as though I was living everything I have seen and heard about the poverty in India.

We were staying within one of the largest Slums of all of Asia, DHARAVI.
Here are some of the pictures from our trip.

I thank God everyday for what he has amazingly blessed me with.

When I am there, I always think about
how my sister and I would of turned out?

Would Nordstrom be on our radars?

Would I know what Peppermint Tea is?

I know that I would have a taste for different things however, it is difficult to imagine.

Airports and Stories

First flight out of the country! (for Anthony)

On the Airplane, India bound! Actually getting there, yes, 25 hours just in the air. We were ready for our mission of actually getting there. My parents arrived in Kerala, and then we had to then get on another plane to Mumbai. Traveling with my parents is so sweet!

We arrived in New York, we had to get a burger in before we left the good ol' USA. SO McDonald's it was lol... It almost made me sick. After New York, we arrived in London. This is my LEAST favorite AIRPORT! My father and I were extremely frustrated. They checked everyone again once they landed, and then once we went to the gate, they looked through everyone's bags and then patted everyone down again... absolutely crazy... I didn't get the double double check lol
Mom and Dad in the Plane headed to NYC

Then it was Kuwait. This was my first time arriving there. It was amazing to land there because outside of our plane window, we could see the whole country. It was absolutely beautiful, the whole country was brown (desert). When I travel, I always like to observe the trees, nature, the people, and the buildings. The buildings had beautiful architecture.

Dad in Kuwait
In the actual airport, the bathroom area was called the prayer room, I thought this was amazing! There was this hallway that went to a prayer room, and the bathrooms were right next door. There was NO TP! So it's basically like BYO-TP lol... In the prayer room, I saw dedicated women praying their prayers. Almost made me guilty, did I pray once I arrived in Kuwait? I whispered, thank you Jesus for bringing me here :)...

FINALLY, we reached Cochin. HOME at last! Something about being in India just makes me smile and have this inner feeling of being home...

Our cousins picked up mom and dad and then we headed to Mumbai to Pastor Chacko. My parents were so cute! Dad was all worried about being alone in India, without them. Especially since Anthony was new to the country and I barely can speak Hindi. I can only understand some words, not enough to have a real conversation. My Father teared up and said goodbye, My mom said to Go in Jesus Name... and then... we were off... Anticipating what God had planned for the next week in a new City!

India-My homeland

In an Auto, Mumbai, India
I just came back  from my trip to India (about two weeks now). My husband, Mom, and father went and we had the most amazing time. We did some mission work the first week in Mumbai, while we were there I also got to visit a Clinic/Hospital, the orphanage ("Almost Heaven"), churches, shops, malls, and see the SLUMS.

After our first week, we flew to Kerala, this is where my HOME is. Southern India, filled with men wearing 'skirts' or what you would officially call them, 'munds', the most intelligent people ever, rubber trees, spiders as big as my husbands hand, cows, monkeys, passion fruit and the Festival Onum. They are long fabric wrapped around the waist and most probably are not held up by a belt. You apparently have to rely on how right you can tuck and pull.

During our stay in Kerala, we visited family, Anthony preached 7 times at 5 different churches, encountered many creatures, had fun adventures and made many memories. For the next couple of weeks I will be blogging on my trip and posting on certain ideologies, memories, Christian thoughts, the Slums, abortion, the sex-ratio, corruption, poverty, and many other things. Stay Tuned!!!

Sincerely,

Bina Rachael Walker
